Park City High School’s girls flag football program is preparing for the postseason with an undefeated Black varsity team and three squads in its second season.

League playoffs begin the week of Oct. 26 and run through Nov. 13, according to TownLift. All three Park City teams are expected to play at least one postseason game.

As we reported Oct. 14, the Black team’s 37-0 win over Cottonwood pushed its record to 5-0, with every victory by double digits. Last year’s top Park City squad reached the state semifinals.

The Black and Red teams both won their Oct. 12 games at Dozier Field, the program’s only home date this season. Cheerleaders and athletes from other Miner sports attended despite the rain.

The program launched in 2025 with about 30 players on two teams. More than 50 girls attended tryouts this year, allowing coaches to add a developmental team for eighth-graders and freshmen, TownLift reported. All three squads compete on a varsity schedule.

Seven volunteer coaches run the program, most with daughters on the teams. Coach Brandon Heaney told TownLift that recruiting more coaches will help determine how much further it can grow.

Girls flag football remains unsanctioned by the Utah High School Activities Association. Junior quarterback and team captain Savannah Ramsey told TownLift she hopes to see that change while helping build Park City’s program.

The Black team’s next game is scheduled for 7 p.m. Oct. 24 against Woods Cross at Juan Diego Catholic, as previously reported.
