Children 12 and under will ski free at Deer Valley Resort during the first week of the 2026-27 season, the resort announced in an Oct. 13 press release.
The promotion runs Dec. 5 through Dec. 11. Each paying adult can claim one complimentary child lift ticket. Families can also get 50% off kids' rental equipment by booking over the phone during that week.
The offer is part of Alterra Mountain Co.'s Kids Ski Free Week, a company-wide initiative across its portfolio of resorts.
"Kids Ski Free Week encourages families to hit the slopes together and foster a lifelong love of skiing," Rob Sogard, Deer Valley's vice president of skier services, said in a statement.
Dec. 5 is also Deer Valley's planned opening day for the season, conditions permitting, as the Park Record reported in September.
Lodging deals stack on top
Deer Valley is pairing the free kids' tickets with its Ski, Stay & Save Package at select resort lodging properties. The package includes up to 30% off lodging and lift tickets plus a $100 resort credit at Deer Valley-owned restaurants, shops and rental outlets.
The deepest lodging discount, 30% off, applies Dec. 4–17, 2026, and March 28 through April 18, 2027. A 20% discount covers Dec. 18–24, 2026, Jan. 4 through Feb. 11, 2027, and Feb. 22 through March 11, 2027.
To get the lift ticket discount, guests must pre-purchase tickets by 5 p.m. two days before their ski day. A minimum night stay is required and varies by property. The resort credit applies only at Deer Valley-owned businesses.
New chairlift adds 200 acres
Skiers arriving opening week will find an expanded mountain. The new Hail Peak Express chairlift adds roughly 200 acres and seven runs, bringing Deer Valley to about 4,500 skiable acres and 32 chairlifts, TownLift reported in September.
Construction on the Park Peak and East Village lodges will continue through the winter, with both set to open for the 2027-28 season, according to the Park Record.
The resort also plans to introduce new family snow-feature zones across the mountain this winter, according to TownLift.
