Park City's girls soccer team shut out No. 16 Provo 3-0 on Tuesday, Oct. 13, at Dozier Field, opening the 4A state playoffs with a first-round win.

The No. 1-seeded Miners now host No. 8 Snow Canyon in the quarterfinals at 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, at Dozier. Snow Canyon advanced by beating No. 9 Desert Hills in a penalty shootout after a scoreless draw, according to the Deseret News state tournament bracket.

Park City (17-1) entered the postseason on a 15-game winning streak. The Miners haven't lost since Aug. 11. They claimed a fourth straight Region 10 title during the 2026 season and carry seven players with at least eight goals.

The Bowers sisters have helped anchor the roster. Sophomore midfielder Reagan Bowers has eight goals and three assists after earning a full-time varsity spot this season. Senior defender Addison Bowers has committed to Trinity University in San Antonio beginning fall 2027.

"… We all want the same objective at the end of the story, which is to win state," Addison Bowers told the Park Record before Tuesday's opener.

Head coach Anthony DiCicco has guided many of the current seniors since they were 12-year-olds in the Park City Soccer Club. His late father, Tony DiCicco, coached the U.S. women's national team to the 1999 World Cup title, according to Townlift.

At the team's senior night game on Sept. 25, DiCicco called the group's journey from youth soccer to their final high school season a "full circle moment." Park City honored 14 seniors that evening, including Addison Bowers, Marley Filippone, Carmen Fletcher and Lizzy Schlegel.

That senior class has come close before. The Miners lost in the state championship game in 2023, the quarterfinals in 2024 and the semifinals in 2025. The program's last state title came in 2005, the fifth in school history, according to UHSAA records. Park City also won championships in 1997, 1999, 2000 and 2004.

The 2026 4A bracket was trimmed from 24 to 16 teams, leaving less room for a misstep. A win Thursday would send Park City to the semifinals at Zions Bank Stadium in Herriman, with the finals later that week.

Park City and Snow Canyon kick off at 4 p.m. Thursday at Dozier Field.
