Hannah Thomas-Hollands, a cellist with the Utah Symphony, is taking over as executive director of NOVA Chamber Music Series, the nearly 50-year-old chamber music nonprofit that has brought performances to audiences across Utah, including Park City.

Thomas-Hollands succeeds Bethany Podgorny, who is departing as her family relocates to Sweden, where her husband has accepted a position with a symphony orchestra, according to a Park Record report published, July 21.

"I'm honored to join NOVA and excited to begin this next chapter with such an extraordinary organization," Thomas-Hollands said in a statement. "Chamber music has shaped my life as a performer, and I believe deeply in its power to bring people together."

The leadership change comes as NOVA prepares a seven-concert 2026-27 season. The organization was founded in 1977 by former Utah Symphony clarinetist Russell Harlow. Kimi Kawashima serves as artistic director, and the Fry Street Quartet continues as Quartet-in-Residence. NOVA's Gallery Series, which places concerts in intimate art-gallery settings, has expanded the organization's reach to Park City and other neighborhoods since 2013.
