Park City's two school board races are already decided. Denise Andrews and Nick Hill filed as the only candidates for Districts 4 and 5, guaranteeing them seats after the November 3 general election.
Both filed 2026 primary campaign finance disclosures with the Summit County Clerk's Office, according to county records published Thursday, July 30. The nonpartisan races drew no other challengers.
Hill, the board's current vice president, is seeking reelection to the District 5 seat he first won in 2022. His primary disclosure, dated June 9, shows a bare-bones campaign: $50 in contributions, all from himself, and $50 in expenditures covering the filing fee paid to the clerk's office on Jan. 2.
His campaign balance sits at zero.
Andrews filed for the District 4 seat being vacated by Board President Meredith Reed, who is leaving to run for Summit County Council District 5. Andrews' specific fundraising figures were not available as of July 31; her disclosure document is on file with the county but has not yet been reviewed by The Basin News.
The board Hill and Andrews will join has weathered significant turnover in recent years. Former Superintendent Jill Gildea departed amid community controversy, followed by an interim period before Superintendent Lyndsay Huntsman was hired to stabilize the district. The board also terminated Chief Operating Officer Mike Tanner after an external investigation cited dishonesty as a possible cause, and the Treasure Mountain construction project drew state scrutiny over asbestos violations and unpermitted discharge of contaminated groundwater into Silver Creek, according to a TownLift candidate profile of Reed published in June.
Reed's departure opens a spot Andrews will fill without opposition. As the Park Record reported in January, Reed has served as board president while pivoting to a County Council campaign.
With no contested races, both candidates will join the five-member board after the November 3 general election. No candidate forums or additional filing deadlines have been announced.
