Park City senior midfielder Elsa Dellenbach scored three goals Monday, Oct. 5, as the Miners routed Jordan 8-0 in their regular-season finale.

The win extended Park City's lengthy winning streak and sent the top-ranked 4A squad into the playoffs as the likely No. 1 seed. All eight goals came in the first half. The Park Record reported the 4A tournament was set to begin Tuesday, Oct. 6, though the UHSAA had not posted the official bracket as of Wednesday, Oct. 7.

This year's 4A playoff field was cut from 24 to 16 teams, raising the stakes for every round. Park City's senior class knows postseason pressure well. The group lost in the state championship game in 2023, fell in the quarterfinals in 2024 and was eliminated in the semifinals in 2025.

"We're always always looking toward playoffs," Dellenbach said in August after the Miners' season-opening win over Wasatch. "We've had good runs, deep runs, and I think we're just almost there as far as becoming champions."

Head coach Anthony DiCicco, who first worked with many of the current seniors when they were 12-year-olds at the Park City Soccer Club, said after the Sept. 25 senior night win over Murray that he believed the team had not yet played its best soccer despite producing tremendous games and fantastic goals through the season.

Park City's first-round opponent and game time had not been announced as of Wednesday, Oct. 7.
