Summit County residents can walk Historic Main Street for free on Friday, August 7, when the 57th annual Park City Kimball Arts Festival opens with Locals' Night from 5 to 9 p.m.
The three-day festival runs Friday, August 7, through Sunday, August 9, bringing nearly 200 juried artists representing 13 mediums, two live music stages, and hands-on art activities to Park City's downtown corridor. The event draws approximately 30,000 attendees each year, according to the Kimball Art Center.
Locals' Night: register now
Locals' Night admission is free for Summit County residents and homeowners, but advance online registration is required at kimballartsfestival.org/locals-only/. Free tickets will not be available at the gates. Each order allows one adult ticket and up to two children's tickets for ages 6 to 17. Children 5 and younger get in free without a ticket. Bring a valid photo ID showing a Summit County address, or a current utility bill if your ID doesn't match.
Non-Summit County visitors can attend Friday evening for $15.
Jaimie Mitchell, development specialist at Kimball Art Center, called Locals' Night "a reunion on Main Street" in a festival announcement, noting that neighbors reconnect each year while experiencing the art together.
National recognition
The festival earned the No. 8 spot on USA TODAY's 2026 10BEST Readers' Choice list for best art festival in the country, according to the Kimball Art Center website. The expert-nominated, audience-ranked program also recognized the festival in 2024.
Music, art, and activities
More than 20 live performances will rotate across the Main Stage and the Wasatch Stage at the Top of Main Street throughout the weekend. Friday night acts include Theoretical Blonde, Cosmic Possum, Trio Fratelli, and Will Baxter. Saturday and Sunday performers include Brazuca Band, Pepper Rose, Michael Cartwright Band, The Fox Brothers, Alicia Stockman, and Utah Flamenco Gipsy Fire Dance, according to the festival's programming announcement.
The Creation Station on East Heber Avenue will host a collaborative community mural, custom button and bracelet design inspired by the center's current exhibition "Re(sounding)," and a scavenger hunt called Fest Quest. At Miner's Park, advanced Kimball Art Center ceramics students will showcase pottery, and visitors can try throwing clay on a wheel on Saturday, August 9. Face painting is available Sunday.
On Sunday morning, the center hosts Coffee with Kimball at the Brass Bear Gate starting at 10 a.m. The first 100 guests receive a limited-edition festival travel mug.
Local artists Elle Donavan and Brooke Elanye won the 2026 T-Shirt Design Contest; their artwork appears on official festival merchandise.
Volunteer and support
Volunteers receive free festival tickets, exclusive T-shirts, and raffle entries. Sign up at kimballartsfestival.org/volunteer/. Festival proceeds support Kimball Art Center's year-round exhibitions, arts education, and community programs. The center does not take commissions on artist sales, so artists keep 100 percent of their revenue.
