The South Summit Aquatic and Fitness Center in Kamas held its first High Uintah Kids Tri on Saturday, July 25, 2026, with registration capped at 100 young athletes ages 4 through 17.

Heats began at 8 a.m. and ran youngest to oldest, with the final wave starting at 9 a.m., according to the race schedule on RunnerCard. Distances scaled by age group: the youngest competitors covered a 25-yard swim, a 1-mile bike, and a 0.35-mile run, while athletes 11 and older faced 150 yards in the pool, 4 miles on the bike, and 1.2 miles on foot.

The swim took place inside the aquatic center in a snake-like lane pattern. Racers transitioned to the bike on the patio and finished the run on the South Summit High School track. Parents could bike and run alongside younger children, and life jackets were available for swimmers who needed them.

Jamie Lambert, the event contact at the center, organized the race as part of the facility's youth athletics programming. Entry cost $25 for members and $30 for non-members.
