A witness told Park City police that the man suspected of fatally stabbing 34-year-old Damon Dae Enman on July 24, called Enman "a reptilian" before attacking him with a knife inside a short-term rental on the 500 block of Deer Valley Drive.

The detail appears in court documents first reported by KPCW. The killing is Park City's first homicide since 2017.

Enman, of Salt Lake County, called 911 around 8:30 a.m. saying he had been stabbed, according to court documents. Park City officers arrived to find him with a stab wound to the chest. A second man at the scene, later identified by police as the suspect, had a cut on his arm.

Enman told responding officers the other man grabbed a knife and said he was going to kill him.

Park City Police Department Communications Director Clayton Scrivner confirmed on July 24, that two people were injured in the incident and were taken to Salt Lake City-area hospitals. The department said the stabbing was isolated and there was no ongoing threat to the public.

Enman was airlifted by medical helicopter from City Park at approximately 9 a.m. and transported to a Salt Lake City-area hospital, where he died, according to police.

Park City Police Chief Wade Carpenter announced July 25, that officers had arrested a 38-year-old Salt Lake County man in connection with Enman's death. The suspect is being held without bail in the Summit County Jail on a murder charge.

Formal charging documents had not been filed as of July 26, meaning the murder charge has not yet been confirmed through the court system.
