Silver Summit Academy, the Park City public school that has sent student-athletes to the Olympic Games, opened enrollment Monday, Aug. 3, for a new tuition-free online program serving grades 7 through 12.

Silver Summit Academy Online is built for elite athletes in training, performing arts students, and independent learners who need scheduling flexibility that a traditional school day cannot provide. The program is tuition-free for Utah residents, with limited spots available to maintain individualized support, according to TownLift.

The school has a direct pipeline to elite competition. In sliding sports alone, Silver Summit student-athletes have competed in junior World Cups, junior world championships, the Youth Olympic Games, and the Olympic Games. Most recently, graduate Matt Greiner competed in the individual men's luge event at the 2026 Milano Cortina Olympics in February.

"To all those future Olympians back home, just believe in yourselves, and believe in your coaches," Greiner told Youth Sports Alliance luge athletes after his Olympic race in February. "You too can absolutely make it here."

When Greiner competed in Italy, Silver Summit students created cards that lined the school's hallways before being shipped overseas.

Principal Jeff Greiner, Matt's father, said the online expansion carries the same academic expectations as the brick-and-mortar school. The program emphasizes college readiness, independent critical thinking, and structured accountability rather than a standard digital curriculum.

Silver Summit Academy is a non-traditional public school operating under the South Summit School District. It is not a charter or private school. The in-person campus serves grades 6 through 12 and has operated for roughly 10 years, producing collegiate champions, principal dancers, engineers, and entrepreneurs alongside its Olympic-level athletes.
