Know someone who gives their time and talent to make greater Park City a better place? The Park City Community Foundation wants to hear about them.
Nominations are open for the 2026 Trisha J. Worthington Community Service Award, the Foundation's annual honor for sustained volunteer service. The deadline to submit a nomination is August 17.
The winner will be announced at the Foundation's annual Grants Celebration on September 9, at Deer Valley Resort. Along with the recognition, the Foundation will grant $1,000 to a local nonprofit of the winner's choice, funded by donor contributions.
Anyone can nominate a neighbor, colleague, or friend. The Foundation asks nominators to include specific examples of how the person has made a difference, inspired others to get involved, and shown extraordinary commitment to the community. Nominations are submitted online at parkcitycf.org, and questions can be directed to Minda Boland at [email protected].
A decade of honoring local volunteers
The award has been given annually since 2015 and is named for Trisha J. Worthington, the Foundation's founding executive director, who established the community foundation in 2007. Since then, the organization has granted more than $82 million to Park City and Summit County nonprofits.
Recent winners reflect the breadth of service the award recognizes. In 2025, two recipients shared the honor: Heather Sims, a Park City High School mountain bike team coach, and Jim Gaddis, founder of the Youth Sports Alliance. Each directed a $1,000 grant to a nonprofit of their choice. At the September 2025 ceremony at Deer Valley's Snow Park Lodge, Gaddis described how the Youth Sports Alliance shifted its focus to help kids "that never had the means and the money to even try anything."
Nominations are reviewed and selected by the Foundation's Community Fund Steering Committee.
