Deer Valley Resort's live-fire cooking festival has expanded fivefold for its second year, giving Park City residents and visitors five consecutive weekends of open-flame culinary demos, craft beer, and live music at Silver Lake Lawn through August 9.

The Fire & Flavor Festival debuted in summer 2025 as a single-weekend event. For 2026, the resort stretched it across 10 days spanning July 11 through Aug. 9, with a rotating lineup of guest chefs.

"Thanks to our guests' resounding enthusiasm last summer, we are excited to host the Fire & Flavor Festival for a second year at Silver Lake," Jacob Musyt, Deer Valley's vice president of food and beverage, said in a May 27 press release announcing the expanded schedule.

Each weekend features a different headliner. Chef Sarah Glover opened the series July 11–12 with locally sourced game and fresh-baked breads cooked over open fire. Matilda & Gozney Pizza followed July 18–19, firing Neapolitan pies in ovens that reach over 900 degrees. Overland Cookery, led by expedition chefs drawing on remote-environment cooking, takes the stage July 25–26. Chef Ryan Arensdorf of KC Que closes the festival with two straight weekends of Kansas City-style slow-smoked BBQ, Aug. 1–2 and Aug. 8–9.

Anchoring every weekend are Deer Valley Executive Chef Peter Menteer, who joined the resort in 2022 and oversees its culinary program, and Chef Sam Phelan, a New England Culinary Institute graduate. Menteer serves an 8-foot paella loaded with local meats and seafood; Phelan prepares plank salmon over open fire pits.

Local Utah breweries pour craft beers alongside the food, and live music plays throughout each afternoon.

Admission is free with a $10 scenic-ride lift ticket from Snow Park base area. One child rides free per paying adult, and season passholders get complimentary access. Food and beverages are sold à la carte, with entrée plates at $25. Festival hours run 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

For those wanting a more intimate experience, a companion Taste of Luxury dinner, "Smoked with Ryan Arensdorf," is scheduled for Aug. 7, at Silver Lake Lodge. Tickets start at $198.99 per guest and include a meet-and-greet reception and dinner.

The festival's final weekend is Aug. 8–9. After that, Deer Valley's next major culinary event is the 5th Annual Mountain Beer Festival on Sept. 19–20.
