Two years after the International Olympic Committee awarded Utah the 2034 Winter Games, the organizing committee announced Friday, July 24, that its Podium34 philanthropic program has raised $250 million toward a $300 million goal, with youth sport and community impact programs set to launch this fall at venues including Utah Olympic Park in Park City.
The milestone lands on the exact second anniversary of the IOC vote in Paris, where delegates approved Utah's bid 83-6 on July 24, 2024.
Three Park City-area venues will host Olympic competition in 2034: Utah Olympic Park (bobsled, luge, skeleton, ski jumping, Nordic combined), Deer Valley Resort (freestyle skiing moguls and aerials), and Park City Mountain Resort (snowboarding and freestyle skiing halfpipe and slopestyle). All sit within an hour of the Olympic and Paralympic Village at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.
"We were bursting with pride two years ago in Paris," said Fraser Bullock, president and executive chair of Utah 2034. "Our athletes, Lindsey Vonn and Dani Aravich, helped tell a remarkable story to the IOC that day. Now it's our job to bring it to fruition here in Utah."
Bullock, who served as chief operating officer for the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Games, credited Utah donors for the campaign's early momentum.
CEO Brad Wilson said the committee's 12-person staff is focused on revenue production and developing community programs rather than building new facilities. The organizing committee published its Games Plan Version 1 on June 23, 2026, outlining two strategic horizons: the first running through 2030 to establish organizational and financial foundations, and the second carrying through Games delivery.
The Podium34 campaign, which launched in September 2025 with more than $200 million in founder commitments, is backed by nine Founding Captain donors who each pledged $20 million or more. They include the Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Foundation, the Huntsman Family Foundation, and the Ryan and Ashley Smith Foundation, among others.
The fall programs will include youth sport initiatives and Olympic and Paralympic values education in classrooms, according to the organizing committee. No specific launch date has been announced.
Utah Olympic Park, built for the 2002 Games, houses one of only four sliding tracks in North America and six Nordic ski jumps, according to the Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation. It serves as an official U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee training site.
The Olympic Winter Games are scheduled for February 10-26, 2034, with the Paralympic Winter Games running March 10-19, 2034.
