Summit County had counted 10,831 ballots out of an estimated 19,491 received in the 2026 general election, leaving 8,660 still uncounted as officials continued processing ballots.
The Summit County Clerk's Office posted unofficial results as of 5:20 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4.
The county had 29,387 active registered voters as of the Friday before Election Day. The estimated number of ballots received represents roughly two-thirds of those voters, though the final number of accepted ballots has not been established.
Of the estimated ballots received, 8,660 had not yet been counted as of the Nov. 4 update.
The clerk's office also reported 258 rejected ballots with problems that voters can still correct. Another 12 ballots were classified as incurable, meaning they cannot legally be corrected. The office recorded 226 provisional ballots.
Voters whose ballot-envelope signatures do not match county records may be asked to complete a correction affidavit, according to the clerk's election instructions. The county says ballots can be counted once the required correction is received.
The Summit County Council will hold the official canvass Nov. 17, according to the county's 2026 General Election FAQ.
During the canvass, the governing body examines the election results and determines whether to approve them as final or request additional information. Until then, all posted results remain unofficial.
