Park City Mountain will host the Snow League's Season 2 World Championship on Jan. 21-23, 2027, bringing a 22-foot superpipe competition back to town for the first time since the 2019 world championships.

The event is part of an expanded deal between Shaun White's halfpipe circuit and NBC Sports, announced Aug. 27. The deal puts all four Season 2 events on NBC as encore broadcasts and streams more than 50 hours of live coverage on Peacock.

Beginning in 2027, every Snow League event will also simulcast live on the league's YouTube channel. In Season 1, events streamed only on Peacock.

"Our mission has always been to grow snowboarding and freeskiing by making the sport more accessible to fans everywhere," Snow League CEO Omer Atesmen said, according to Yahoo Sports.

Season 2 opens Sept. 19 in Cardrona, New Zealand, with a team event that won't count in the season-long standings. That opener will stream exclusively on YouTube. The first NBC broadcast is an encore of the Cardrona event, scheduled for Dec. 27, 2026, at 2 p.m. ET.

The Park City stop carries extra weight. White, a three-time Olympic gold medalist who founded the Snow League after retiring from competitive riding, contracted with Park City Mountain to host the championship. The resort is a confirmed venue for the 2034 Olympic Winter Games.

Park City Mountain has already carved the superpipe into the mountainside. At 22 feet tall and 700 feet long, the pipe was cut into existing dirt rather than built up from snow.

The resort estimates the method will cut water usage for snowmaking by half, the Park Record reported. Terrain park specialist Eric Rosenwald designed the feature using a LiDAR scan and 3D modeling.

Jake Kiejko, snow surfaces manager at Park City Mountain and project manager for the superpipe, told the Park Record in August that the pipe reflects a broader goal. He said the aim is "to not let halfpipe riding fade away and to lean into it and try to keep that discipline in the sport alive."

The superpipe will remain as a permanent terrain park feature after the Snow League wraps, giving local riders and Olympic hopefuls a training venue through 2034.

In Season 1, the Snow League awarded $2.2 million in prize money. Snowboarders Sena Tomita and Yuto Totsuka and freeskiers Eileen Gu and Luke Harrold took home season titles.

The four-event Season 2 schedule includes the New Zealand opener and the Park City championship. The league has not announced the other two stops.
