Park City will cut the ribbon on a 7-mile Historic Mine Route during the Miners Day Parade on Monday, Sept. 7, adding a permanent self-guided trail to a celebration now in its 130th year.

The route, developed by Friends of Ski Mountain Mining History, connects 24 historic mining sites across town with more than 80 wayfinding signs, interpretive panels and a free GPS-triggered audio guide featuring local historians. The nonprofit launched a companion website with maps, trail options and FAQs ahead of the opening.

The ribbon cutting takes place at the parade, which steps off at 11 a.m. on Main Street, according to TownLift. Main Street and Park Avenue close from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. for the parade, the Park Record reported.

The weekend's events begin Friday.

MinersART at Miners Hospital, Friday through Sunday

The free pop-up art show, formerly known as MINERS9, returns to the upper three floors of Miners Hospital under new local leadership and a new name. Ten artists are exhibiting, including metal artist Kelly Gallagher, glass artist Mitch Bedke, fabric artist Becky Ruley and woodworker Jim Sheeran. The Local Readery will sell books by local authors Friday and Saturday.

Hours: Friday, Sept. 4, noon to 7 p.m.; Saturday, Sept. 5, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Sunday, Sept. 6, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free.

Park Silly Sunday Market, Sunday

The market takes over Historic Main Street on Sunday, Sept. 6, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with local and regional artists, makers, food vendors, live music and street performances. Free admission.

Library book sale, Sunday and Monday

The Friends of the Park City Library's annual sale returns to the library's third floor. Books run $1 to $3. On Monday from 2 to 4 p.m., shoppers can fill a tote bag for $15. Proceeds support library programs.

Hours: Sunday, Sept. 6, and Monday, Sept. 7, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days.

Miners Day, Monday

The day begins in City Park with the Miners Day Breakfast from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. The meal is free, with donations benefiting St. Mary's Catholic Church religious education programs. The Bark City 5K starts at 8 a.m. in City Park.

Before the parade, thousands of golf balls will race down Main Street in the Park City Rotary Club's Running of the Balls. Balls cost $10 each or in bundles up to $100 for 20. A $100 Silver Strike Ball offers a shot at a $3,000 travel package. Only 200 Silver Strike Balls are available. Purchases can be made at parkcityminersday.org.

After the parade, City Park hosts food, live music, kids' games and the traditional mucking and drilling competition.
