The Park City Police Department (PCPD) will hold a public memorial ceremony Friday, Sept. 11, to mark 25 years since the 2001 terrorist attacks.

The 30-minute ceremony runs from 7 to 7:30 a.m. outside PCPD headquarters at 2060 Park Ave., according to TownLift. The department is inviting community members to stand alongside local first responders for the observance.

The program opens with a welcome and the national anthem. An honor guard will then present the colors before agency leaders deliver remarks. A Last Call and moment of silence will follow. A bagpiper performing "Amazing Grace" will close the ceremony.

The department has held similar observances in past years. In September 2023, Police Chief Wade Carpenter delivered remarks at the annual tribute while Summit County Dispatch issued a call to all units for a moment of silence, the department posted on X that day.

PCPD has not announced whether Carpenter or other specific officials will speak at Friday's ceremony. The department can be reached at (435) 615-5500 for questions about the event.
