The Park City Fire Service District's Administrative Control Board will take up a request for proposals tied to Station 35 and hear a drone demonstration by the Summit County Sheriff's Office when it meets Tuesday, August 4, at 736 West Bitner Rd.

The work session begins at 5:30 p.m. with a district update from Fire Chief Pete Emery, followed by several agenda items touching budgeting, wildfire preparedness, communications infrastructure, and new technology, according to the meeting agenda published Monday, August 3.

Station 35 RFP

Emery will lead a discussion on an RFP connected to Station 35, located at 2575 West Kilby Rd. in the Ecker Hill area. The agenda does not specify whether the RFP involves a rebuild, renovation, or other facility work. The scope is unclear. Station 35 currently houses a 2017 Rosenbauer Commander medic engine.

Finances and budgeting

CFO Del Barney will present a second-quarter financial review, the first public look at the district's 2026 mid-year numbers. Chief Ashley Lewis will follow with a presentation on the PCFD budgeting process as the district prepares for its next fiscal year.

The district's most recent publicly available annual report, from 2019, showed property tax revenue of approximately $12.4 million and total revenues of roughly $16.8 million.

Wildland update, drone demo, and communications

Wildland Division Chief Sean Briley will brief the board on wildland operations. The update comes after Summit County fire danger was rated "extreme" in June, when Stage 1 fire restrictions took effect on state and unincorporated lands.

Summit County Sheriff's Office Lt. Chad Hoffmeyer will demonstrate drone capabilities at Station 33, which sits adjacent to the administrative building on Bitner Road. A separate SCSO Communications team will present on dispatch operations and Quarry Mountain communications infrastructure serving the district.
