Fifty new and expecting mothers from Summit and Wasatch counties will receive free baby supplies Tuesday, Oct. 6, at a community baby shower hosted by the Christian Center of Park City.
The Motherhood Circle event at the center, 1283 Deer Valley Drive, is the second such shower the organization has held. The first took place May 27. The program, co-hosted with The Hive Family Collective, runs twice a year and serves mothers navigating pregnancy and early parenthood.
Each attending mother will take home a diaper bag filled with baby essentials and one larger item such as a car seat, stroller or pack-and-play. The event will also connect mothers with lactation consultants, safety education and other community organizations focused on maternal health, the Park Record reported.
Registration is full.
A waitlist is available at tinyurl.com/3vddhjew, and those interested can also email [email protected].
Donations and volunteers still needed
The center is accepting donations of diapers in sizes one through four, diaper bags, baby grooming kits, bottles, baby wash and shampoo. Items can be purchased through the center's Amazon wishlist at tinyurl.com/42xec73f or donated as an Amazon gift card.
Drop-off locations include the Christian Center of Park City at 1283 Deer Valley Drive and FulFILLED Park City at 6699 N. Landmark Drive, Suite G103.
Volunteers are also needed for setup and teardown. The center said it is particularly looking for Spanish-speaking and bilingual volunteers.
The center, led by Executive Director Steve Richardson, runs food pantries, counseling and other support programs funded by four resale stores. The program runs twice a year, and the center has not yet announced a date for the next shower.
