A stabbing at a short-term rental on Deer Valley Drive killed one person Friday, July 24, marking Park City's first homicide since 2017, according to the Park Record.

Park City Municipal Communications Director Clayton Scrivner said two people were injured in the incident, which occurred around 8:30 a.m. at a home on the 500 block of Deer Valley Drive, between the Marsac Roundabout and Deer Valley Resort. Both were transported to Salt Lake City-area hospitals. One died from their injuries.

At least one victim was airlifted by medical helicopter from City Park at approximately 9 a.m.

Police are not searching for suspects. The city did not say whether any arrests have been made but confirmed officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.

The property where the confrontation occurred is listed as a short-term rental on Airbnb, according to county records reviewed by KPCW. Police have not said whether the stabbing occurred inside the home or outside. Park City police cruisers blocked off the property the morning of July 24.

Authorities have not identified the victims and said they were working to notify the family of the person who died. The condition of the second victim was unknown as of the evening of July 24.

In a news release, the city called the incident "isolated" and said there was no ongoing threat to the public.

The Park City Police Department's investigation is continuing. Authorities have not announced a timeline for releasing additional information.
