Park City's Miners Red varsity hockey team has opened the 2026-27 season with five wins, scoring 42 goals while allowing just seven.
The defending state champions have beaten Sky Canyon twice, South County twice and Brighton Navy once, according to Utah High School Hockey's GameSheet results.
Park City opened Sept. 2 with a 7-2 victory over Sky Canyon, then defeated Brighton Navy 7-1 on Sept. 9. The Miners followed with an 8-0 shutout of South County on Sept. 14 and an 8-3 win over Sky Canyon on Sept. 21.
Their largest victory came Oct. 14, when they beat South County 12-1 at the Park City Ice Arena.
The five results give Park City a 35-goal scoring advantage. The team has scored at least seven goals in every game and allowed no more than three in any contest.
The Miners are pursuing another championship under first-year head coach Tom Gatta, who succeeded longtime head coach Mike Adamek, according to the Park Record.
