A vehicle struck a 65-year-old woman riding a bicycle at the Deer Valley roundabout on Sunday, Sept. 20, according to the Park City Police Department's weekly log.

The collision was logged as an injury accident. The cyclist's condition, whether she was transported to a hospital and whether the driver was cited have not been reported.

The incident was one of several calls Park City police handled during the week of Sept. 14-20. The log also included fireworks thrown from moving vehicles, a hit-and-run and a rockslide that dropped football-sized rocks onto a road.

Fireworks launched from vehicles

Two vehicles, a minivan and an SUV, were reported driving through a neighborhood near American Saddler Drive and Lucky John Drive at about 9:44 p.m. on Sept. 20, according to the Park Record's blotter. Occupants were allegedly yelling and throwing fireworks out the windows. Whether police identified the vehicles or took enforcement action is not known.

Hit-and-run at Sidewinder Drive

A hit-and-run was reported at 12:39 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 14, outside the 7-Eleven on Sidewinder Drive. The suspect vehicle was described as a truck with a trailer belonging to a landscaping company, according to TownLift's police log.

Rockslide on Wheaton Way

A rockslide near Marsac Avenue and Wheaton Way was reported at 7:02 p.m. on Sept. 14. Police were told rocks the size of footballs had fallen into the roadway.

Other calls

The week's log included a range of other incidents across Park City:

  • A Tesla was reported speeding and crossing a double yellow line on Guardsman Pass on Friday, Sept. 18. A caller described the driving as extremely unsafe.
  • About 15 cars were reported illegally parked at the top of Guardsman Pass on Saturday, Sept. 19.
  • A driver was stopped for operating a vehicle in a bicycle lane on SR 248 on Tuesday, Sept. 15.
  • House insulation was found dumped on the lawn of a park near Wyatt Earp Drive on Wednesday, Sept. 16.
  • A bus broke down at Snow Park Lodge on Sept. 16, and officers assisted with traffic control.
  • A vehicle traveling uphill on Marsac Avenue was struck by a vehicle traveling downhill on Sept. 20. No injuries were reported.
  • A caller on Sept. 20 reported someone threw a piece of chicken through his vehicle window near Park Avenue and Kearns Boulevard. No damage was reported.
  • A caller reported a party of about 40 people at a neighboring home on Sept. 20.
  • Vehicles were repeatedly parking in a lot owned by the Kimball Art Center and the Boneyard on Sept. 18, despite notices left on windshields.
