A dump truck struck a traffic signal pole and overturned on southbound SR-224 near Holiday Ranch Loop on Thursday, Oct. 1. The crash blocked two of three southbound lanes during the evening commute.
No injuries were reported, the Park City Police Department said.
The crash happened at 4:37 p.m. near Payday Drive, according to the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT). The truck knocked down the southbound traffic signal, the Park Record reported. As of 5:30 p.m., the northbound signal was flashing red.
Only the left southbound lane remained open, according to TownLift. Park City Police officers directed traffic in both directions while UDOT crews responded to repair the damaged signal.
The cause of the crash remained unknown as of Thursday evening. Neither UDOT nor the police department had announced when full lane access or signal operation would be restored.
