Local musicians will celebrate Southern rock at The Marquis on Saturday, Oct. 24, in a concert kicking off Mountain Town Music’s Live PC Give PC fundraising efforts.

A Celebration of Southern Rock begins at 8 p.m., with doors opening at 7 p.m., at 427 Main St. Tickets are listed at $35 on Mountain Town Music’s website. The event is for ages 21 and older.

The concert leads into Live PC Give PC, Park City’s annual day of giving, scheduled for Friday, Nov. 6, according to the Park City Community Foundation.

This is Mountain Town Music’s third annual community jam concert. The revived series began with a tribute to The Band’s “The Last Waltz,” followed by a Fleetwood Mac celebration last year, Ryan Walsh, the nonprofit’s director of community engagement, told the Park Record.

Producer Junior Richard helped shape this year’s show and setlist. Planned selections include music by Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Allman Brothers Band, the Marshall Tucker Band, ZZ Top, Tedeschi Trucks Band and Little Feat.

“This is probably the only time that this specific cast of musicians will perform together on stage,” Walsh told the Park Record.

The current ticket listing names 15 performers: Nick Chamberlain, Rylee McDonald, Cole Hobbs, Kate Chanson, Preston Creed, Matt Wilson, Ray Rosales, Shannon Runyon, Jim Bone, Malia Denali, Bryon “Freedog” Friedman, Scott “Dude” Dudevoir, Tim Wray, Mary Beth Maziarz and Andy Bailey.

Chanson is also serving as line producer, coordinating rehearsals, vocal harmonies and stage needs. Chamberlain and McDonald are musical directors, according to a companion Park Record profile.

Walsh will emcee, introducing the musicians and discussing the songs’ connections to Southern rock.

Tickets are available through the event’s ticket page.
