Park City will travel to Hurricane for the first round of Utah's Class 4A football playoffs Friday, Oct. 30, at 6 p.m.
The Miners earned the No. 15 seed in the 16-team tournament and will face the second-seeded Tigers at Hurricane's home field, according to the state playoff bracket.
Park City enters the game with a 5-5 record. Hurricane is 9-1, according to MaxPreps.
The Miners won four of their final five regular-season games. They closed the season with a 35-6 victory over Deer Creek.
Park City's late-season run also included wins over Provo, Uintah and Wasatch. Its only loss during that five-game stretch was a 24-23 defeat against Timpanogos.
Hurricane presents a difficult opening matchup. The Tigers finished the regular season with nine wins and one loss, including a 42-8 victory over Desert Hills.
Hurricane's lone defeat came against Snow Canyon, which won 28-27 on Oct. 2. The Tigers also recorded victories over Crimson Cliffs, Dixie and Pine View.
The winner of the Park City-Hurricane game will advance to the quarterfinals against the winner of No. 7 Salem Hills and No. 10 Mountain Crest.
A matchup with Salem Hills would give Park City a chance to avenge a 14-7 home loss from Sept. 11. The Miners did not face Mountain Crest during the regular season.
The Utah High School Activities Association has scheduled the Class 4A quarterfinals for Nov. 6-7. The semifinals and Nov. 20 championship game will take place at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City, according to the association's tournament calendar.
