A moose that returned to a Park City family’s property for 17 consecutive winters inspired a chocolate business with an unusual name: Park City PU PU.
The mother-and-daughter company says its chocolate-covered almonds play on their resemblance to the moose droppings hikers encounter on local trails, according to its website.
The business credits Roxii, the family’s recurring wild visitor, as the inspiration for its moose-themed collection. It markets its confections as gifts and guest amenities celebrating Park City’s wildlife.
Products include dark chocolate almonds and dark chocolate toffee almonds. A Reserve Collection features genuine 24-karat edible gold, according to the company.
Its lineup also includes Pony PU, dark chocolate-covered dried cherries inspired by the family’s interest in horses. The company says a portion of proceeds supports horse rescue and sanctuary efforts, though its website does not specify the donation amount.
Park City PU PU says it uses organic or non-GMO ingredients. Its ingredient information identifies Fair Trade-certified ingredients in the chocolate-covered cherries.
Customers can inquire about wholesale orders and custom gift arrangements through the company’s custom gifts page.
