Dak Prescott and a roster of Dallas Cowboys offensive stars trained at Park City's North 40 Playing Fields over two days in early July, working out on the same fields where the Park City Miners are preparing for their upcoming football season.

Prescott organized the annual pre-training camp retreat, which brought quarterbacks, receivers, running backs and tight ends to the fields next to the PC Hill trailhead. Wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, wide receiver George Pickens and tight end Jake Ferguson were among the players who attended. Prescott told reporters on July 18 that every player he invited to the Park City gathering showed up.

The workouts lasted up to two hours per session and were built to push the group physically before formal training camp opens July 29, in Oxnard, California.

Park City High School Head Football Coach Dennis Cunningham helped coordinate the visit with city and school district officials. The Miners have been using the North 40 fields while Dozier Field undergoes renovations ahead of their Aug. 28, home opener against Morgan.

"Everybody was really welcoming to the idea of hosting these guys," Cunningham told the Park Record. "The administration supported us and the city supported us in getting our normal high school field outfitted with some markings that worked for the NFL."

Cunningham said the Cowboys were locked in on the field, even as crowds gathered on the second day after word spread. Players posed for photos and signed autographs afterward.

Off the field, the Cowboys went fly fishing on the Provo River, boated on Jordanelle Reservoir, played golf and ate dinner around town. Cunningham credited Park City's quieter setting for letting the players focus without the fan crush they'd face elsewhere.

The visit gave Cunningham material for his own locker room. He said he recorded video of the Cowboys' practice and plans to show it to his Miners players to demonstrate efficient drill work and a team-first attitude.

Dallas finished 7-9-1 in 2025 and missed the playoffs for the second straight year. Pickens is playing 2026 on the franchise tag at $27.3 million after a breakout first season in Dallas, per ESPN. Prescott told reporters the standard for the season is simple: "It's Super Bowl or nothing. It's that or nothing."

The Cowboys departed for Oxnard on July 27, with their first padded session scheduled for Aug. 3. The Miners open their season at a renovated Dozier Field on Aug. 28, against Morgan.
